Proposed change to the Heysham to M6 Link Development Consent Order
A proposed change to the Heysham to M6 Link Development Consent Order (DCO) will be advertised in two local Lancaster papers from Monday 20 October 2014 for two weeks. The change relates to a realignment of the M6 Junction 34 northbound slip road.
Initially, the designs for the new junction meant that a gas pipeline would need to be diverted. However, since construction has started, we have been able to get more accurate information about the location of the gas pipeline and it no longer needs diverting. The proposed change would deliver a saving of £1.5m to the scheme.
The consultation period for the proposed change is scheduled to end on Friday 5 December 2014 with a decision by the Secretary of State for Transport to follow, hopefully a few weeks after that date.
You can view the application documents and plans on the National Infrastructure Planning website.
