Five sites were excavated along the route of the new Bay Gateway, revealing human activity dating from the Stone Age to the nineteenth century. Two of these sites, found in the valley of the Howgill Brook in the Beaumont area of Lancaster, proved to be highly significant.
Lancashire County Council and Costain have teamed up with St John’s Hospice in Lancaster to organise a community walk along the route of the link road.
