Meet the Heysham to M6 Link project team

Representatives from Costain, the construction firm tasked with building the new link road connecting Morecambe and Heysham to the M6, along with Lancashire County Council are hosting a number of public exhibitions to give the local community another chance to meet the team and ask questions about the construction of the road.

Now that construction has started, the exhibitions are to explain in more detail what’s being built, how it will be built, and what impact can be expected during the two and half years construction period.

Project Manager Andrew Langley said, “People will notice we’ve started now, particularly at the Morecambe Road roundabout, where we’ve been clearing vegetation in preparation for major works in that area a few months from now.

We’ve got traffic management in various places on Caton Road, Lancaster, Barley Cop Lane and on Torrisholme Road near our new site compound on the former Broadoak site.  We ask people to look ahead and adhere to the signs around the traffic management in place to keep everyone as safe as possible. If in doubt check our website for all planned road works or follow us on twitter @heysham_link. ”
