One year since its opening, The Bay Gateway has been named the 2017 Economic Infrastructure Project of the Year.
The Bay Gateway was officially opened by the Lord Lieutenant of Lancashire today, in a special ceremony at Lancaster and Morecambe College, which sits at the start of the new road. At the event the Lord-Lieutenant, Lord Shuttleworth KG KCVO, met local stakeholders, including residents, business people and representatives from local agencies, and unveiled a plaque marking the opening of the new road.
Due to an injury to HRH Princess Alexandra, the Bay Gateway (the Heysham to M6 Link Road) will now be opened by the Lord-Lieutenant of Lancashire, Lord Shuttleworth KG KCVO.
Drivers using the M6 through north Lancashire are being advised of an important phase of Lancashire County Council's Heysham Link project that will require the closure of first the northbound carriageway between junctions 33 and 34 and then the southbound carriageway between junctions 35 and 34. These closures will take place between 10pm and 6am Wednesday 1st February and again between 10pm and 6am Thursday 2nd February 2017.
On the afternoon of Thursday 2 March 2017, HRH Princess Alexandra, The Hon Lady Ogilvy KG GCVO, will officially open the Bay Gateway (the Heysham to M6 Link Road).
